Bicycle on the way
The exciting news is that Robert’s bicycle has left Lenexa, Kansas and is on its way. Equally exciting is the fact that the kitchen is almost functional. The cabinets have been installed, the walls are painted and the tile is down. Too bad that we don’t have running water yet. That should happen soon, which means the impending departure of our dear friend, Polly - or rather Polly II. The original Polly froze and she really was full of shit anyway. But she served us well. The new Polly came equipped with antifreeze, so even though it has been much colder than it was when the original Polly was here, there have been no freezing episodes. Both Polly’s are identical, so it took no time to get accustomed to and acquainted with the new Polly. Now that the prospects of us getting running water are good, we may have an indoor, flushing toilet. Now, there’s a concept. It will take some getting used to heading down the hallway instead of out the door every time that we need to use the bathroom. We might get used to it.
What if the bicycle arrives and Polly departs on the same day? That would just be too much for us to handle. Boy, our lives are really pathetic lately.
