It’s a ……….Bike

After what seemed an incredibly long gestation, the bike arrived today. Although the LBS called me yesterday to say that it was ready; it was not ready. The person helping me didn’t understand that it wasn’t a bike that I took in for repairs. He said that it would be out as if he expected that I was already familiar with bike and could just walk out the door with it. Silly me, I wanted to see if the frame was the proper fit for me.

I got a credit for the seat because I have my own Brooks and am not about to break in another seat any time soon. The rear tire needed some adjusting because it was not seated properly on the rim. The mechanic used some type of tire crimper to get it into an acceptable form. I sure hope that I don’t have any flats anytime soon as it looks impossible to remove the tire.

Because the weather here is wintry, it doesn’t seem likely that we can get a shakedown ride in before we have to ship the bike out to Astoria. That’s a real drag, but riding in 40 degree temps with rain or snow is an even bigger drag.

Starting soon, we will be adding a link to our podcast. Be sure to check that out.
